Come Visit

Come and visit the annual Lowcountry Shrimp Festival in the heart of beautiful McClellanville, South Carolina!

The Robert E. Ashley Landing is located at the end of Pinckney Street in historic McClellanville, SC. Just 30 minutes from Mt. Pleasant or Georgetown, we’re easy to find! From Mt. Pleasant, take Hwy 17 North and turn right at the caution light at S. Pinckney/Hwy 45. From Georgetown, take Hwy 17 South and turn left at either N. Pinckney or the caution light at S. Pinckney/Hwy 45.

Parking

McClellanville is a small town with basically one way in and one way out. Please drive slowly and yield to pedestrians! Weather permitting, parking will be available in a field across the street from the festival for $10 per car. This convenient parking is provided by an area chapter of the Knights of Columbus and not the LCSF. Festival attendees are also welcome to park on the street as long as they are courteous and do not block resident driveways. Pretty much everywhere in town is within walking distance so relax and enjoy the stroll!

Activities

We have something for everyone! Not only do we provide a variety of delicious local seafood, desserts and refreshing beverages, but there is also the blessing of the fleet, live music, amazing vendors, a huge kids area with inflatables, pony rides, face painting, and a butterfly house. Everyone is sure to go home happy!

THINGS TO KNOW

Did you know that our festival is 100% volunteer planned and staffed? Even with all of our experience, planning, and preparation, something will go wrong on Saturday. Please let a volunteer know if you see something, but remember to be kind! We're all working hard to give you the best day possible!

With that said, here are a few friendly reminders:

- McClellanville is a small town! Please carpool when possible and be patient as we pack literally 10 times the normal population on Saturday. Better yet, come by boat!

- We sell beer—lots of it. Coolers are not permitted on the festival grounds. Please also make sure you bring your ID! No ID, no bracelet. No bracelet, no beer.

- Space is tight! We want everyone to come and enjoy but we can't permit visitors to set up tents or umbrellas along the water. They obstruct the view of everyone else and can become dangerous in the wind.

- This is a family event (even with the beer). Anyone being rude or disruptive will be escorted from the grounds. We reserve the right to remove anyone for poor behavior or bad dancing. Though we usually let the latter slide.

- Our craft vendors are awesome! They pay a small fee for their space and keep 100% of their sales so make sure you support them.

- We cook a ton of shrimp. Actually, it's a little less than a half-ton. Please don't wait until 4:30 to try and get your shrimp dinner because we always run out. And yes - we increase the quantity every year. You people are animals!

- Speaking of animals, we have the same policy about them as we do about people. As long as they behave and don't leave any "presents" for people to step in they are welcome. Leashes are recommended for 4-legged guests as well as poorly behaved 2-legged ones.

- The Knights of Columbus offer parking across the street for $10. This lot will close shortly after 5:00, so please plan accordingly. There is free parking on the street, but please be considerate of driveways!
